Add Your Signature: Business Leaders Support Sustainability in NC

The following is a message from the NC Sustainability Center

Ingersoll Rand Corporation, Nester Hosiery, Southern Energy Management, Piedmont Biofuels, Larry’s Beans, and 40 other companies have already signed our statement in support of sustainability in North Carolina.  Will you consider signing today?

The NC Sustainability Center is working to help make the case for how sustainability—across industries and sectors—contributes to a stronger economy in North Carolina.  This Fall, we are launching a new initiative.  With input from business leaders across the state, we’ve written a non-partisan, non-political statement of support for sustainability by NC’s business community.  We recognize that there are many NC businesses that support sustainability efforts for the simple reason that it’s good for business.  And we believe that it’s also good for NC’s economic competitiveness as a state to be recognized as a sustainability leader.  Our aim is to give a stronger voice to this perspective.  The statement, and its signatories, will be published on the NC Sustainability Center website this fall. 

If you agree with this perspective, would your company sign the attached statement?  (Ideally, the signatory is either a senior business executive like president/VP or a sustainability executive at the company.)  No financial sponsorship, membership, or other obligation is requested – just a signature.  Our goal is 200 signatures by Oct. 15 and we are already receiving support from many corners of the state—from entrepreneurial ventures to multinational corporations.
